Market Insight Analyst

Overview

Aberdeen is currently searching for talented individuals with strong problem-solving skills and an intellectual curiosity to join Aberdeen’s growing research team as a Market Insight (MI) Analyst.  This is a unique opportunity that will enable individuals to expand their understanding of the business landscape, hone their market analysis skills, and expand their ability to communicate emerging industry intelligence to the business community. The MI Analyst will explore multiple types of behavioral monitoring data from large-scale internet search activity data to primary survey-based research findings.  This individual will learn how to develop user driven research emerging in critical areas of the business world such as: analytics and business intelligence, information technology, supply chain management, financial management and GRC, and, human capital management.

Responsibilities

  • Track and monitor emerging trends and technologies related to a specific research group.
  • Conduct market research on technology trends and business processes (surveys, first person interviews).
  • Analyze research findings and draw inferences and conclusions in response to the research query.
  • Write cohesive research that illustrates the learnings, and build content that educates the community.
  • Present your findings (by phone and in-person) with technology end-users, software vendors and the marketplace.
  • Build a vendor/market landscape to help guide you research editorial plans.
  • Manage and improve research data collection and analysis processes.
  • Conduct statistical analysis from data collected.

Qualifications

  • Highly motivated and energetic.
  • 3-5 years of practical experience.
  • Bachelor's degree is required; Master’s degree/MBA strongly preferred.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Prefer experience using data management & analysis technologies such as SQL, SAS, Stata, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
  • Prefer experience creating dynamic dashboards/reports to provide valuable, actionable insights.  
  • Experience in an extremely fast paced work environment preferably in research, consulting or marketing/strategy.
  • Strong interest in emerging technology solutions and an eagerness to learn more
  • Ability to use online and other secondary research materials quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to work independently; self-motivated
  • Desire to be responsible for own success, entrepreneurial spirit is very welcome
