Business Development Representative

A great developmental role for early career sellers, the BDR is a key contributor to achieving sales growth by qualifying marketing leads and prospecting into companies. The BDR proactively engages with prospects and sets up meetings for the Sales team, a great way to hone your social selling and prospecting skills and learn how to sell services to marketers!

At Aberdeen, we are passionate about content and marketing services, and we’re looking for BDRs with a genuine interest in this area, as it will shine through to our current and prospective clients during interactions. Business Development Representatives will work cross-functionally with marketing and research teams on regular basis.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Set appointments for sales to meet with respondents to our marketing campaigns.
  • Meet and exceed call volume and appointment setting goals.
  • Prospect and contact marketing professionals and executives to schedule phone and in-person appointments.
  • Manage customer contacts and progress through pipeline development steps tracking within our CRM system environment, experience a plus.
  • Become fluent in our messaging and a master at creating interest with prospects.
  • Collaborate with marketing on messages for calling campaigns.


  • Experience/ Knowledge/Skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated, go-getter who is driven to win 
  • Good social media skills; familiarity with Twitter, LinkedIn
  • Good collaboration skills for working with the sales team, a strong team member that enjoys winning in a team environment
  • Impeccable follow-through, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent phone etiquette; cold calling experience a plus
  • 1 year of previous sales experience a plus
